A one-stop routing is frequently far cheaper than the nonstop equivalent, and Lufthansa's network gives it more of those combinations than almost anyone else.
Because fares are hub-driven, the cheapest dates often have less to do with your destination than with how busy Frankfurt is that week. German public holidays and the major trade fairs push prices up across the whole network, sometimes on routes that have nothing to do with the event.
